2 universities, Bajaj join to train students in manufacturing skills, drive employability

Bajaj Auto in 1st phase collaborated with Banasthali Vidyapeeth and Symbiosis International University to train engineering graduates, soon to be extended to 10 institutes.

NEW DELHI: Bajaj Auto has launched Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. The company in its first phase has collaborated with Banasthali Vidyapeeth in Rajasthan and Symbiosis International University in Maharashtra to train engineering graduates.

The BEST programme aims to provide hands-on training in advanced manufacturing skills to engineering graduates and address the skill gap in the manufacturing industry.

The company will set up state-of-the-art laboratories with top universities and engineering colleges across India to improve the practical skills of young individuals and make them job-ready. The BEST programme will also support students from economically weaker sections of society, and disadvantaged and backward areas by offering scholarships to disadvantaged students.

The programme will focus on four critical modules: mechatronics, motion control and sensor technology, robotics and automation, and industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing. The programme's curriculum is aligned with the National Occupational Standards (NOSs) of employment positions.

The company stated that Initially, it will bear the operational expenses of these training centers. Over time, it plans to facilitate the financial sustainability of these centers, allowing them to continue offering high-quality training.

Rajiv Bajaj, managing director of Bajaj Auto Limited, said, “Every year, more than 12 million people enter the workforce.
