IIM Sirmaur, RWTH Aachen launch PG programme on leadership in smart manufacturing; eligibility

IIM Sirmaur: Candidates must appear for the admission test on August 24. Candidates with valid GMAT, GRE, or CAT scores are also eligible for the programme.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sirmaur in Collaboration with RWTH Aachen University, Germany launched a Post Graduate programme for executives (PGPEX) focused on Leadership in Smart Manufacturing (LSM). As per the institute, this one-year, full-time residential programme aims to equip senior professionals with the essential skills to lead in the era of Industry 4.0.

The programme combines academic coursework with practical insights from industry experts. The curriculum covers cutting-edge technologies, strategies, and leadership practices in smart manufacturing. Key areas of focus include automation, digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and sustainable manufacturing practices.

As per the institute's official website, candidates will have to appear in the admission test scheduled to be held on August 24. To register for the admission test, candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs 2,000.

IIM Sirmaur Admission: Eligibility criteria

Candidates can check the eligibility criteria given to be eligible for the PGPEX-LSM programme.

  • Age Requirement: Candidates age should be at least 25 years old.

  • Educational Qualification: Engineers with a Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Bachelor of Engineering (BE), or equivalent degree from recognised universities or Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) with at least 60 per cent marks in aggregate or an equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).

  • Work Experience: A minimum of 5 years of shop floor experience in manufacturing or allied areas, gained after completing graduation.

  • A valid GMAT, GRE, or CAT score taken within the last five years. The minimum score requirements of 500 in GMAT, 300 in GRE ad 50th percentile in CAT.

  • Aptitude Test: For candidates who do not have a valid GMAT, GRE, or CAT score, an aptitude test will be conducted by IIM Sirmaur.

Admission process for the PGPEX-LSM programme

The admission process for the PGPEX-LSM programme includes an initial screening of applications based on the established admission criteria. Candidates who are shortlisted and do not have a valid Common Admission Test (CAT), Graduate Record Examination (GRE), or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) score will need to undertake an aptitude test, which will cover basic engineering questions and quantitative ability. Those who pass the aptitude test will then proceed to a personal interview scheduled to take place on August 31, 2024 and September 1, 2024.
