NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras will be hosting a ‘Demo Day’ on June 15 and 16. During this event, the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2024 aspirants can visit the campus to experience life as an IIT student.
Interested JEE candidates are advised by the management to register early on the website, askiitm.com/demo. The seats are limited for this event, the management added. Candidates can interact with the current IIT Madras students, faculty, and alumni to receive authentic and up-to-date information during their visit.
The IIT Madras demo day is part of the AskIITM initiative run by alumni and students. It aims to highlight the features that have made the institute India's top-ranked engineering institution for eight consecutive years (2016-2023) in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings. Aspirants can also learn about the new BTech course in artificial intelligence and data analytics offered by the Wadhwani school of data science and artificial intelligence.
IIT Madras demo day schedule
Aspirants in and around Bengaluru and Hyderabad can attend satellite demo day events at the SD auditorium, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru on June 11, and T-Hub Hyderabad, on June 12. Senior faculty, current students, and alumni will be present at these events to provide information and answer questions.
Students unable to travel to IIT Madras can participate in an online session on June 17. During this session, V Kamakoti, the director of IIT Madras, along with other faculty and alumni, will respond to queries about academic and non-academic life on campus.
Welcoming the JEE candidates, Kamakoti said, “This is a crucial juncture for young children to decide their career path, and they must make an informed decision. Through this event, IITM provides an opportunity for young children to visit our campus and learn about various engineering and other disciplines before making a choice.”
