NEW DELHI: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 exam date will be announced soon. The National Testing Agency (NTA) recently updated the JEE Main 2025 official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. JEE Mains 2025 registration is expected to begin from November 1 while JEE Main 2025 session 1 exam is likely to be held in January, based on past trends.

The NTA has stated that registration for JEE Main 2025 will commence "in due course of time." Additionally, it announced the removal of optional questions from section B, which were initially introduced as a temporary measure during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NTA recently issued a notice announcing changes in JEE exam pattern . For JEE Mains 2025, the exam will revert to the pre-COVID format. In the updated pattern, Section B of Paper 1 will no longer include optional questions. Each subject will have 5 mandatory questions, and students must answer all of them. Likewise, there will be no optional questions in the Mathematics section for Paper 2A and 2B.

JEE Main 2025 eligibility criteria

As per previous years, to appear for the JEE Main 2025 exam, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  1. Age Limit: There is no specific age limit to appear for JEE Main . However, candidates must meet the age requirements set by the institution they are seeking admission to (if applicable).

  2. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed their Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2023, 2024, or be appearing in 2025. They must have studied Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following: Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or a Technical Vocational subject.

  3. Number of Attempts: Candidates can attempt JEE Main a maximum of three consecutive years from their year of Class 12 completion. The exam is conducted twice a year, and candidates can attempt both sessions.

The JEE Main notification 2025 will have important details about the timeline of the exam including the registration process, eligibility criteria, the application fee, marking scheme, and exam dates along with information regarding the documents required for registration, guidelines for filling out the application form and instructions for uploading photographs and signatures.
