NEW DELHI: NEET PG counselling 2024 will begin by November 11, as per the Federation of Resident Doctors' Association (FORDA). The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will soon announce the National Eligibility Entrance Test - Postgraduate (NEET PG) counselling 2024 schedule, the authorities are not waiting for the next Supreme Court hearing, the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) president said recently. The MCC NEET PG 2024 counselling schedule will be issued at mcc.nic.in.
The next NEET PG SC hearing date is yet to be announced, however, it is expected to resume on November 19 as per various media reports.
NEET PG counselling is held for admission to All India Quota (AIQ) seats in Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), Diplomate of National Board (DNB), and postgraduate diploma programmes. The NEET PG 2024 counselling process is expected to take place in four phases: round 1, round 2, round 3, and the AIQ stray vacancy round. On October 8, 2024, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) sent a letter to union health minister JP Nadda, requesting that the NEET PG 2024 counselling be conducted without further delay.
MCC NEET PG counselling 2024 registration process has started on September 20, but dates for choice filling, editing, seat allotment and reporting, are awaited. NEET PG 2024 counselling has commenced in states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Jharkhand. However, the counselling process in five states, including Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan, has been temporarily halted due to a pending Supreme Court decision.
A group of 19 NEET PG aspirants has filed a petition, demanding the release of question papers, answer keys, and their raw scores. The petitioners argue these steps are necessary to ensure fairness, especially following unexpected changes to the NEET PG 2024 exam pattern just three days before the entrance test. Additionally, the candidates have voiced concerns regarding transparency in the normalization process, seeking clarification on this issue from the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS).
