NEET UG Counselling 2024: MCC revises eligibility for stray vacancy round; adds seat
MCC has asked state counselling authorities to share data of joined candidates by October 25.

NEW DELHI: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has revised the eligibility criteria for the stray vacancy round of the National Eligibility Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET UG) counselling 2024 and added a seat. MCC has also asked state counselling authorities to share the data of joined candidates by October 25.
In compliance with the court order, MCC has added one seat of Sri Lakshmi Narayan Institute of Medical Science Kudapakkam Post, Villianur, Puducherry in the stray vacancy round.
About the data of joined candidates, the counselling committee said that the filtering out of such students is mandatory before the commencement of the stray vacancy round.
“Hence, all state counselling authorities are requested to share the data of joined candidates of all rounds held so far on intramcc portal provided by MCC latest up to 05:00 P.M of 25.10.2024 so that candidates holding a seat in state colleges are weeded out before seat processing of Stray Vacancy Round of All India UG counselling being conducted by MCC,” said the central committee in an official notice.

MCC has also issued the list of candidates who have joined in round 1, 2, and 3 for weeding out by the counselling authorities of states and union territories.
MCC NEET UG Counselling 2024: Eligibility for stray round
The eligibility for NEET UG stray vacancy round counselling 2024 is given below.
- Candidates who are not holding any seat either in All India Quota or state quota are eligible to participate in the stray vacancy round of NEET UG counselling 2024 to be conducted by MCC.
- Candidates who did not join their seats allotted through MCC in round 3 are ‘Not Eligible’ to participate in stray vacancy round of UG counselling 2024 of MCC. However, ‘Not Reported’ candidates of round 3 of MCC counselling can participate in state UG counselling.
- Candidates who have joined state quota seats through earlier rounds are not eligible to participate in stray vacancy round of UG counselling 2024 of MCC.
- The security deposit of candidates who do not join their allotted seat in stray vacancy round will be forfeited and such candidates will be debarred from taking NEET exam for the next year.
“The data of joined candidates of Round-3 conducted by MCC will be shared with state counselling authorities and such candidates will be debarred from taking admission in state quota counselling,” MCC added.
