NMMS Puducherry 2023 registration begins; exam on March 16
NMMS Puducherry: Class 8 students can apply for the exam at schooledn.py.gov.in before February 20.

NEW DELHI : The Directorate of Education, Puducherry has commenced the registration for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Puducherry on February 5. Class 8 students can apply for the exam through the official website, schooledn.py.gov.in. The last date to apply for the exam is February 20.

NMMS Puducherry exam will be conducted on March 16, 2024. “As per the communication of the Ministry of Education, New Delhi, the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) Examination for students studying VIII standard in govt and govt aided schools in the UT of Puducherry, will be conducted on 16.03.2024 (Saturday) in all the four regions of UT of Puducherry by the Directorate of School Education, Puducherry,” the directorate said.
The school heads have been urged to download the information brochure for the exam from the official website of school education and intimate the students studying in Class 8.
The directorate also asked heads of schools to ensure that all the students studying in Class 8 government and government-aided schools have applied for the exam.
Through the NMMSS exam, 125 students including 93 from Puducherry region, 23 from Karaikal, three from Mahe, and six from Yanam, will be selected on the basis of merit-cum-parental annual income of students. Selected students will be awarded region-wise and caste-wise scholarships of Rs 12,000 per annum from Class 9 to Class 12 by the Ministry of Education.
