TS Inter 2025 Exam: TGBIE will exempt private arts students from attendance requirements for a fee

TGBIE has decided to implement practicals and internal assessments in English part-I for both general and vocational streams.

NEW DELHI: The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has announced a key update for private candidates appearing for the Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) in March 2025. As per the TGBIE official press release, the board has exempted TS Inter private humanities students from attendance requirements upon payment of a prescribed fee within the deadline.

Candidates are required to submit their exemption applications via the official website, tgbie.cgg.gov.in and upload scanned copies of required documents, including SSC certificates, transfer, migration certificates, and eligibility documents for non-Telangana board students.

The official TGBIE notice read, “The incomplete applications and applications received without enclosing original qualifying examination certificate(s), Transfer Certificate and Migration Certificate together with Eligibility Certificate in respect of candidates who have passed the qualifying examination other than SSC, of Telangana State will be rejected summarily without any further correspondence.”

TS Inter Exams 2024: Practical assessments in English

The TGBIE has also decided to incorporate practicals and internal assessments for English under part-I for both general and vocational streams. This system applies from March 2024 for first-year students and will extend to second-year students starting with the March 2025 exams. The TGBIE official notice read, "The TGBIE has resolved (vide ref. cited) to conduct of Practicals / Internal Assessment Test, introduced and implementing for English subject under Part-I, i.e., Practical Manual (A Handbook of Communicative English) to both General & Vocational streams, and effected from IPE March 2024 for 1-year candidates and from IPE March 2025 for 2nd year candidates. "

Attendance exemption fee and deadlines

  • Exemption fee: Rs 500 (non-refundable)

  • Last date for application submission: November 20, 2024

  • With late fee (Rs 200): December 18, 2024

Eligibility criteria

Students can have a look at the eligibility criteria details below.

  • Candidates with a one-year gap post-SSC can appear for the first-year exam. Those with a two-year gap or more may attempt both years simultaneously.

  • Second-year failed students wishing to switch from sciences to arts, humanities or change groups within arts,humanities are also required to apply for attendance exemption.

  • The candidates who have passed IPE with BPC group and desire to appear Mathematics only as an additional subject.

  • All private candidates who are granted exemption from attendance and who intend to appear for 1st or 2nd year in IPE March 2025 for the first time will have to answer the papers as per the syllabus prescribed for the regular students.
