Woxsen University tops Positive Impact Rating 2024

NEW DELHI: Woxsen University has achieved the highest level, level 5 in the Positive Impact Rating (PIR) 2024. As per the institute, this is the third year in a row that the institute has received this recognition. The 2024 edition, themed ‘empowering impact excellence,’ featured case studies and insights from participating schools.

The PIR, a rating conducted by students and for students, evaluates the societal contributions of business schools beyond economic impact. According to the official press release, Woxsen University focuses on ethics, responsibility, and sustainability, alongside its innovative educational approach which has solidified its status as a “premier” business school in India.

The institute said that it works towards integrating all 17 United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its curriculum and activities. In 2023, Woxsen University implemented 85 positive impact initiatives that benefited over 6,500 people across 14 rural communities and 20 schools in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Woxsen University: Initiatives in 2023

Some of the initiatives by the institute in 2023 include Transforming Rural Youth (TRY), empowerIT, project legacy and elevate 3.0. As per the institute, TRY is a student-led initiative that helps rural youth develop entrepreneurial skills and secure sustainable incomes. EmpowerIT is a six-month IT training programme for underprivileged children, providing skills in Database Management Systems (DBMS), personality development, and professional networking.

“Woxsen University ranking at the maximum global level (level 5) by the Positive Impact Rating shows how the university encapsulates its stakeholders to have a social impact as a driving factor in all activities that will surely produce all-rounded and society-focused individuals as graduates,” said Raul V Rodriquez, vice-president of Woxsen University.
