Assam’s B Borooah College first government institute in North-East to get NAAC A++ grade

NEW DELHI: B Borooah College in Guwahati, Assam has been awarded A++ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), state education minister Ranoj Pegu shared on social media. The college is the first government institute in the North-East to receive the grade, the minister said.

According to a mail shared by Pegu which has been sent to the college by the council, the college has been accredited with a CGPA of 3.62 which will be valid for a period of five years. The education minister congratulated the college’s principal Satyendra Nath Barman on the achievement.

In the mail, NAAC said, “I am glad to inform you that the outcome of the Assessment and Accreditation (A&A) exercise of your institution has been processed and approved by the standing committee constituted by the executive committee to examine the peer team reports and declare the accreditation results.”

“Your institution has been accredited with a CGPA of 3.62 on a seven point scale at A++ grade valid for a period of 5 years from 18-10-2023,” the council added.

NAAC informed the college that the original certificate of accreditation will be dispatched in due course. The college can download the Assessment Outcome Document (AOD) from the portal and display it on its official website.

The council expressed surety that the detailed peer team report along with AOD will enable the college to start further measures to improve the quality. The mail also read that as per NAAC guidelines, it is mandatory for the accredited institutions to retain the Self Study Report uploaded on the college’s website until the completion of validity.
