National Medical Commission has recently changed the word "India" with "Bharat" and adopted a coloured picture of Hindu god Dhanwantari in its new logo.
The National Medical Commission’s ‘Post-Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023’ for medical colleges were notified on Wednesday.
The move follows a letter written by the directorate general of health services Atul Goel to the National Medical Commission.
NMC answered questions related to applicability, implications, annual disclosure report, failure and compliance of these regulations.
Haryana doctors demanded formation of a specialist cadre, reduction in the bond amount for PG courses and a dynamic assured career progression scheme.
This move replaces the previous practice of colleges creating and approving these courses themselves to train doctors.
National Medical Commission changed the logo over a year ago; it recently updated it to make the image of the Hindu god Dhanvantari more prominent.
