The executive MBA programme at IIM Kozhikode’s Kochi campus saw a 17% increase in number of participants. 24% are women, 4 international students.

NEW DELHI: The Kochi campus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode saw a 17 percent increase in enrolment for the 2024-26 batch of the Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) in Management for working executives. The institute conducted the induction ceremony for the 11th batch of the EPGP programme today.
The current batch of the MBA programme at IIMK’s Kochi campus has 200 participants and is the largest batch so far, as per IIM Kozhikode. The participating students come with an average experience of 8.5 years. 24% of the candidates are females, it said.
The EPGP batch also includes four international students this year with two from Saudi Arabia, one from Kuwait and Germany each.
Over 73% of the batch comes from 18 states and Union Territories (UTs) outside Kerala. Sector-wise, 35% of the professionals are from IT/ITES, 12% from manufacturing, 8% from healthcare and education, 7% from banking and financial services and others from the government sector, PSUs, logistics, and supply chain. The programme also saw entrepreneurs enrolling.
The classes will be held on one weekend in physical mode, and on two weekdays in online mode to accommodate students outside Kerala.
Arvind Srinivasan, Chief Medical Officer and director of Projects, Aravind Eye Care System was the chief guest for the event. He talked about the role of society in shaping an individual’s character. He urged the latest batch of the management programme to nurture and give back to the society and the entire ecosystem. Moreover, he discussed other aspects such as the importance of mentorship, developing social intelligence, gaining discipline and the significance of deep observation while executing personal and professional tasks. He encouraged students to be more creative.
Professor Debashis Chatteree, IIMK director, thanked Srinivasan for gracing the occasion and spoke on the institutional mission of Vision 2047 – Globalizing Indian Thought. While interacting with the new students, the director also emphasized on the importance of connecting work with the “power of purpose” and how “reflective consciousness” is integral for success in the longer run. He expressed confidence that IIMK will play a crucial role in the creation of a new and resurgent India, and urged the participants to be engaged with the larger institutional mission of IIM Kozhikode.
