IIT ISM Dhanbad Placements 2023-2024: 40% students yet to be placed
IIT Dhanbad’s average salary also declined and the 2023-24 figure has been the lowest in three years.

NEW DELHI: Around 40% students are yet to be placed in the on-going placement season of 2023-24 at Indian Institute of Technology ( Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, a Right To Information (RTI) reply revealed. Out of 1,595 students who registered for the IIT ISM Dhanbad placements, 642 students are yet to be placed, highest in the last three years.
The RTI application filed by Dheeraj Singh, an alumnus of IIT Kanpur, received the response on May 7, 2024. Out of the students registered, around 60% students have been placed. This number was 76% in 2022-23, 72% in 2021-22.
The average and median salaries have also declined over the years. In 2023-24, the annual median salary and average salary stood at Rs 12 lakh and Rs 15 lakh, respectively.
Overall, the placements across IITs have been suffering . IIT Dharwad, IIT Hyderabad, IIT BHU and several others have reported in RTI replies, sent from the last week of April, that around 40% students are not placed in the current academic year.

Overall,the median and average salary has also declined. The highest average salary was in 2022-23 – Rs 17 lakh per annum.
