JEE Mains 2026 April 8 LIVE: Day 6 exam for BTech 'moderate to tough'; question paper analysis, cut-offs

JEE Main 2026 Session 2: The National Testing Agency has concluded Day 6 of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main 2026) Session 2. According to the JEE Main 2026 April 8 exam analysis, the paper was moderate to tough overall. Students found mathematics to be the toughest section, while chemistry was rated moderate, and physics was the easiest.

The JEE Mains 2026 session 2 was held in computer-based test (CBT) mode at 566 centres across 304 cities in India and 14 cities abroad.

The NTA will announce the JEE Mains 2026 session 2 results by April 20 for admission to engineering colleges across the country. Only 2.5 lakh candidates will qualify and become eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2026.

The JEE Advanced exam will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee on May 17. Paper 1 will be held from 9 am to 12 pm, and Paper 2 from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

Admissions to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and other engineering colleges across the country will be based only on AIR ranks through JoSAA.

JEE Main 2026 April 8 paper analysis

The JEE Main 2026 April 8 evening shift exam was moderate to tough overall. The JEE Main session 2 April 8 paper was easier compared to the January session and was similar to the April 6 morning shift. Mathematics was the toughest and most time-consuming section, followed by Chemistry, which was moderate and mostly based on NCERT. Physics was the easiest but involved calculations.

NTA will prepare the final All India Rank (AIR) and percentile for 2026 based on the best score from the two sessions, and the higher percentile will be considered.
