NEW DELHI, FEB 23: Telangana Government has approved the move to establish a Women’s University in the state by converting University College for Women in Koti.

Deputy Chief Minister, Kadiam Srihari during his visit to the College informed that the move has been approved by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Srihari said, “Koti Women’s College has all the facilities to be converted to a university. The authorities concerned are given a month’s time to deliver a report on the infrastructure and facilities required for the change to be made.”

The Women’s College presently offers 42 undergraduate and post-graduate courses and affiliated to Osmania University.

There has been demand for a Women’s University in the state as after the bifurcation the only Women’s University in the erstwhile undivided Andhra Pradesh went to the newly formed Andhra Pradesh.
