All India Bar Examination-XVIII registration extends; apply by October 9

NEW DELHI: All India Bar Examination -XVIII (18) registrations have been extended till October 9. The Bar Council of India (BCI) has extended the last date for payment of fees for online registration for AIBE-XVIII till October 10.

Law candidates can register through the official website, allindiabarexamination.com.The AIBE XVIII (18) 2023-24 registration fee is Rs 3000 for all candidates.

The Bar Council of India has added a new examination centre at Aizawl in Mizoram from the All India Bar Examination 18 onwards. “ We are pleased to inform you that Aizawl will now be on the list of existing examination centres. Now, you can choose “AIZAWL” as your preferred test city while applying for the All India Bar Examination – XVIII” a notice from BCI read.

The Bar Council of India will conduct the AIBE 18 exam on October 29 which will be of 3 hours and 30 minutes duration. The AIBE exam will consist of 100 questions from various topics such as constitutional law, the Indian penal code, criminal procedure code, code of civil procedure, evidence act, company law, cyber law, etc.

There is no negative marking in the AIBE 18 exam. As per the AIBE exam pattern released by the council, the AIBE is not an open-book exam. However, candidates are allowed to carry Bare Acts without notes.

The council has increased the pass percentage from 40 percent to 45 percent for the general category candidates and Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) and PwD candidates will have to score 40 percent to clear the exam. Earlier, the qualifying percentage for reserved categories was 35 percent.
