NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode has announced a revised admission policy for management programmes for the academic session 2024-25. The institute has given a final weightage of 35 percent to the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2023 scores for MBA admissions.

As per the revised PGP admission policy of IIM Kozhikode, now gender diversity will carry 10 percent weightage while academic diversity will carry 5%. Until last year, both the components together carried a total of 10% weightage for shortlisting of candidates.

IIM Kozhikode will follow a three-step selection process for admissions to its postgraduate programmes including registration of candidates, shortlisting for Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI), and final shortlisting which will be based on CAT 2023 scores and performance in WAT as well as PI.
IIM Kozhikode will announce the list of candidates shortlisted for stage 2 in the last week of January 2024 and the final merit list in the second week of May 2024. CAT 2023 is scheduled to be held on November 26.
The details of the stages of PGP admissions 2024 through CAT 2023 at IIM Kozhikode are given below:
Stage 1
The eligibility criteria for applying to IIM Kozhikode for admission to PGP programmes are:

Stage 2
Successfully registered candidates will be considered for the second stage of the selection process. Students will be shortlisted for WAT and PI on the basis of an Aggregate Index Score (AIS). AIS is prepared based on components including performance in CAT 2023, Class 10, Class 12, gender diversity, academic diversity, and work experience.

IIM Kozhikode informed that Class 10, 12 percentage would be calculated on the basis of aggregate marks in all subjects. Talking about the diversity component, it stated, “Only female/transgender candidates are eligible for a gender diversity score of 10. A candidate with (or pursuing) a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a discipline other than engineering/technology will be eligible for the academic diversity score of 5. A candidate is entitled to only one of two applicable diversity scores, from either gender diversity or academic diversity and not for both.”

Moreover, the institute said that part-time, project, internship, articleship, pre-graduation, or fellowship work experience will not be counted as work experience.
Stage 3
IIM Kozhikode will conduct the written test and interview at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Mumbai and New Delhi. Post this, the institute will prepare a category-wise merit list on the basis of performance of candidates in CAT 2023, WAT, PI, and resume score. The weightage given to each component for the final shortlisting is given below:
