IIM selection criteria evaluate multiple parameters that go beyond CAT scores, and include academic performance in Class 10, 12, graduation, sectional cut-off marks in CAT exam, work experience, gender and academic diversity, and performance in interview.
Although there are several factors that will contribute to MBA selection at IIMs, sectional and overall CAT cut-offs play a significant role, as they are used to shortlist candidates for the second-stage of admission.
This year, out of 2.95 lakh registered candidates, 2.58 lakh candidates appeared in the exam. Of them 0.97 lakh are female, 1.61 lakh are male, and nine are transgender.
IIM Kozhikode said that 93 non-IIM institutions will use CAT 2025 scores this year for offering admission into postgraduate management programmes.
