In CAT 2025, the VARC section was easy, the DILR section had long questions, and the Quant section had tricky but manageable questions, CAT slot 2 candidate Abhimanyu told Careers360. He mentioned that the Arithmetic and number system questions were time-consuming.
Nishank said that the Quant section was the toughest and longest among the three sections. From a complexity standpoint, the questions were of medium difficulty. There were more geometry questions than those seen in mock tests. In VARC, two passages were lengthy, while the other two were easier. He also reported that there were no technical glitches.

The CAT 2025 slot 2 question paper included 11 Arithmetic and 7 Algebra questions, all straightforward. The VARC section had 4 RC passages comprising 16 questions, along with 2 para-jumbles, 2 para-summaries, 2 missing sentences, and 2 odd sentences. The DILR section featured 5 sets.
CAT 2025 Slot 2 Analysis: Section-wise difficulty level
Below is the CAT exam slot 2 analysis 2025 based on the feedback from candidates.
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC): There were a total of 24 questions in the VARC section, for which students were allotted 40 minutes. In slot 2, the difficulty level of this section was considered moderate, with 24 questions including topics such as para jumbles, verbal reasoning, and fill-in-the-blanks.
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR): There were 22 questions in this section, most of which were easy to attempt.
Quantitative Aptitude (QA): There were 22 questions in this section of the CAT 2025 slot 2, and the allotted time was 40 minutes.

As per the CAT 2025 marking scheme, 3 marks will be given for every right response, and one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. There are no negative marks for non-multiple-choice questions (non-MCQs) and unanswered questions.
