NEW DELHI : Online learning platform Coursera, in partnership with the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM), on Wednesday revealed that 10 professional certificates from Google and IBM have now aligned with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF). With the help of this project, companies and colleges will be able to provide credit to industry content. This will help open up more career opportunities for those interested in skill-based employment.
Students can receive credits for all types of learning under the National Education Policy’s (NEP) National Credit Framework (NCrF), which makes transferring between academic coursework and skill-based learning simpler.
Raghav Gupta, managing director of Coursera, said: “We're excited to partner with NASSCOM in this transformative initiative, aligned with India's vision to become the skills capital of the world.”
Gupta added: “The NSQF alignment of these professional certificates supports India’s education reform, facilitating credit transfer across academic and skill-based learning, while increasing student mobility and employability.”
