NEW DELHI: The Common University Entrance Test - Undergraduate (CUET UG 2024) exam dates are likely to be changed due to the upcoming Lok Sabha general elections 2024, the University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar said. The CUET UG registration 2024 is underway at the official website, exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced it will hold the CUET UG exam 2024 from May 15 to 31 for admission to more than 230 participating universities. However, general elections 2024 are expected to be held in the month of April-May. To avoid the clash between CUET and general elections, the exam dates are highly likely to be postponed or advanced.
Candidates who complete the registration form before March 26 will be allowed to make edits in the application from March 28 to 29. The CUET UG exam city slip will be issued on April 30 and the admit card in the second week of May.

The CUET UG 2024 exam will be held in hybrid - online and pen and paper mode. The test will be organised in 380 cities, including 26 cities outside India.
Candidates will be allowed to provide a maximum of 4 exam cities as preference. The decision to run a computer-based test or pen and paper exam in the exam cities will be decided by the NTA after considering multiple factors such as number of candidates who have opted a subject, exam centres and more.
“Though every effort will be made to allot a Centre in one of the cities selected by the candidate, the NTA reserves the right to allot a city to the candidate which may, in extreme circumstances fall out of the options opted by the candidates due to administrative reasons,” the NTA said.
