Delhi University to launch MCom, MBA scholarships for economically weaker students
DU Scholarships: The main criterion for selection will be the economic status of the MCom, MBA students based on the family income.

NEW DELHI: University of Delhi will be introducing the Late Professor Vanita Tripathi Scholarship for MCom and MBA students. The DU scholarships are need-based, to encourage students who are economically weak and whose family income falls in the range of Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 4 lakh. The official notification inviting applications for scholarships will be notified on the DU official portal soon.
The DU Executive Council passed the resolution on July 27 to implement MCom and MBA scholarships at the university.
“Two Scholarships are being instituted in the memory of Dr. Vanita Tripathi, a former Professor in Department of Commerce out of which one is to be given to a first year student of M.Com/ MHA (HRD), and the other is to be given to a second-year student of the same course,” as per the Academic Council (AC's) minutes of meeting.
The process for selecting awardees for the scholarships will include inviting applications and a brief write-up from students citing reasons for applying for grant.
The main criterion for selection will be the economic status of the students based on the family income. They are also required to submit their parents' income certificate while applying for the scholarship.

“The applicants will undergo the process of an interview by a committee consisting of the Head of the Department and Programme Coordinators of M.Com, and MRA (HRD) to ensure that the scholarship goes in the right hands,” it said.
Additionally, the interview committee may also give preference to applicants whose parents have passed away and those who have studied in government or government-aided schools.

The scholarships will be granted as per the following categories such that the category 1 applicants will have more preference than category 2 and so on.
