CAT slot 3 candidates reported that the exam followed the same pattern as last year. The VARC section had 24 questions, including four reading comprehension (RC) passages and an odd one out.
According to the CAT 2025 slot 3 test takers, the VARC section was moderate to difficult and slightly tougher than slots 1 and 2. Two RC passages were difficult, while one was manageable. Argument-based questions were included.
The verbal section included two parajumbles, two para summary questions, two ‘tricky’ odd-one-out questions, and two ‘doable’ para completion questions. CAT slot 3 aspirants reported no change in the CAT 2025 exam pattern .
The DILR section was easy to moderate, featuring a circular arrangement set, a scatter-plot DI set, two double sets, and an incoming–outgoing calls set. Overall, it was manageable with moderate reasoning.
The Quant section in the CAT 2025 slot 3 was the most difficult among all three sections. Around 8–9 questions were from arithmetic, and many were calculation-intensive. Despite the familiarity of topics, the overall difficulty was higher compared to slots 1 and 2.

CAT 2025 Slot 3 Analysis: Pattern remains unchanged, 204 marks
The CAT 2025 question paper included a total of 68 questions on Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), and Quantitative Aptitude (QA).
As per the CAT 2025 marking scheme, 3 marks will be given for a correct response, 1 mark will be deducted for an incorrect answer, and there will be no negative marking for unanswered questions.
