IIM Jammu lowers CAT 2025 cut-offs, increases weightage to 42%; batch size likely to go up to 300

Download EBookThe Indian Institute of Management Jammu (IIM Jammu) has revised its admission criteria for the MBA 2026-28 cycle by lowering the CAT cut-offs and restructuring the overall selection process. The institute is expected to admit around 300 students this year and clarified that the IIM Jammu CAT cut-offs and admission policy may be modified at any time before the selection process concludes.

According to the IIM Jammu MBA admission criteria 2026 , the CAT cut-off percentile required for shortlisting candidates for the personal interview has been reduced across categories. For general category candidates, the overall CAT cut-off percentile has been fixed at 91, down from 95.
To get a MBA seat at IIM Jammu , prospective candidates are required to clear the Common Admission Test (CAT 2025) to be shortlisted for the personal interview process. A merit list will be prepared by allotting 42% weightage for CAT, 30% for PI, and 28% for profile scores.
Beyond CAT, profile scores are calculated based on applicants’ performance in Class 10, 12, graduation, which will carry 10 marks, work experience will be evaluated out of 10 marks, and up to 8 marks for gender diversity.
Only those candidates who have worked full-time after graduation have been asked to submit the details. Work experience earned without salary, internship, apprenticeship, part-time jobs will not be considered valid. Experience earned without salary, or with cash salary, will also not be considered.

IIM Jammu CAT cut-offs for MBA admission 2026
To be shortlisted for the second-stage of selection process, personal interview, candidates should not only obtain the overall CAT cut-off percentile but also score the minimum cut-off marks fixed for all three sections in the CAT question paper – Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA).
Last year, the CAT overall cut-off percentile was 95 for general, 81 for EWS and OBC, 66 for SC, and 41 for ST. However, the cut-offs percentile has been reduced to 91 for general, 74 for EWS and NC-OBC, 54 for SC, and 32 for ST and PwD.
The CAT cut-offs for IIM Jammu MBA admission 2026 have been reduced by 4 to 12 percentile points this year, with the steepest drop for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.

IIM Jammu MBA 2026: Final selection criteria
The final selection of candidates will be solely based on the merit list, which will combine the scores obtained in CAT, personal interview, and profile score.

Candidates offered MBA admission will have to pay a seat acceptance fee of Rs 50,000, which will be adjusted against the term 1 fee upon joining the programme. Those who exit the selection process on or before June 21, 2026 will be eligible for a refund after a deduction of Rs 1,000 as a processing fee.
IIM CAT admit card 2025 was issued on November 12 for 2.95 lakh candidates. The MBA entrance exam will be held on November 30 in three slots.
