IIT Roorkee professor awarded IEI Young Engineers Award 2023-24 in Environmental Engineering
The IEI Young Engineers Award is conferred by the Institution of Engineers India to young and exceptional engineers.

NEW DELHI: Ankit Agarwal, professor of hydrology department, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Roorkee), has been conferred with the IEI Young Engineers Award 2023-24 in Environmental Engineering discipline.
Agarwal was awarded at the inaugural session of the 37th National Convention of Environmental Engineers held at Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, on October 26. He was awarded with a plaque and certificate for his contributions to the field of environmental engineering.
Agarwal joined IIT Roorkee in 2019. He is also visiting scientist at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, Potsdam, Germany and visiting researcher at Technical University-Dresden, Germany.
The 'IEI Young Engineers Award' is presented by the Institution of Engineers India to young and exceptional engineers who have made noteworthy contributions in their respective domains. The award acknowledges outstanding professionals who have the potential to shape the future of engineering.
IIT Roorkee director professor KK Pant said, “The institute takes immense pride in Ankit Agarwal's achievements and his dedication to advancing the field of environmental engineering. His research and contributions have enhanced the academic community's understanding and also made a substantial impact on environmental conservation and sustainable practices.”

IIT Roorkee, an institute of national importance, was established in 1847. It imparts higher education in engineering, sciences, management, architecture and planning, and humanities and social sciences. Since its establishment, the Institute has played a vital role in providing technical human resources and know-how to the country.
