IIT Roorkee, Uttarakhand government launch earthquake early warning app
BhuDEV app provides real-time earthquake alerts and emergency assistance during seismic threats.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, in collaboration with the government of Uttarakhand, has introduced an earthquake early warning app named BhuDEV (Bhukamp Disaster Early Vigilante). Utilising advanced seismic sensors and cutting-edge data analysis from the institute, IIT Roorkee experts have developed BhuDEV to deliver real-time warnings directly to users' smartphones during crisis times.
Designed by leading experts at IIT Roorkee, the BhuDEV app aims to ensure the safety and resilience of Uttarakhand residents against seismic threats. The Center of excellence in disaster mitigation and management at IIT Roorkee took the initiative to design this app. IIT Roorkee experts have conducted extensive research to understand disasters and mitigate damage using current technological advancements.
