NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main 2025) registration for eligible candidates who wish to give their first attempt in January. As per the schedule, the JEE Main registration last date is November 22. The JEE Mains session 1 exam will commence from January 22 at various locations across India and abroad. The exam will be held for BE, BTech and BArch and BPlanning papers. The national-level entrance exam is conducted for offering admission into BTech courses at National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), centrally-funded technical institutes (CFTIs) and other participating colleges.
Students who qualify the exam and obtain a rank in the top 2.5 lakh will be eligible to appear in the JEE Advanced 2025, a gateway to IIT admissions. JEE Main session 1 exam 2025 will be held from January 22 to January 31 and session 2 from April 1 to 8.

If a candidate has passed the Class 12 exam from one state but appeared for improvement from another state, the state code of eligibility will be from where the candidate first passed the qualifying exam and not from where they appeared for improvement.
Those who have passed Class 12 or appearing for the exam from NIOS should select the state of eligibility according to the state in which the study centre is located.
For Indian nationals passing the Class 12 exam from Nepal or Bhutan, the eligibility will be determined based on a permanent address in India as given in the passport of the candidate.
Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) passing the Class 12 from an institution abroad are eligible for other state quota seats or All India quota seats, but not for Home State quota seats in all NITs, IIITs and Other-CFTIs.
