JEE Main 2025 registration begins at jeemain.nta.nic.in; exam dates, eligibility criteria

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has commenced the registration process for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 from today, October 28. Interested candidates can register for JEE Mains 2025 session 1 through the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in. "Candidates can apply for JEE (Main) - 2025 Session 1 through the "Online" mode only through the website https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/ The Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted", the official notification read.
As per the schedule, candidates will be able to pay the JEE Main 2025 registration fee till November 22. The application fee can be paid online via credit, debit card, net banking and UPI.
JEE Main 2025 exam dates
The NTA has also announced the JEE Mains 2025 exam dates along with the official brochure. As per the schedule the JEE Main 2025 exam will be conducted between January 22 to January 31. The JEE Main 2025 admit cards will be issued three days before the commencement of exam.
Candidates will have to use their login credentials such as registration number and date of birth to download the JEE Main 2025 admit card. JEE Main 2025 will be conducted in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

JEE Main 2025: Eligibility criteria

Educational Qualification : Candidates must have completed their Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Mathematics, and a Chemistry/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject. Students appearing in the Class 12 exam in 2025 are also eligible.

Minimum Marks : Candidates should have obtained a minimum percentage of marks in their Class 12 exams as specified by the respective institutes. This is usually around 75% for general category students and 65% for SC/ST candidates, but it's best to check the specific requirements for the institutions of interest.

Subjects Required : Candidates must have studied Physics, Mathematics, and one of the following: Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or Technical Vocational subjects in Class 12.

Number of Attempts : Candidates can attempt JEE Main for a maximum of three consecutive years. Apart from this, there is no upper age limit to apply for JEE Main 2025.
NTA recently notified the changes in the JEE Main 2025 exam pattern and scribe guidelines for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates on the new official website. JEE Main 2025 information bulletin includes other details including how to fill the application form, documents required for registration, application fee, eligibility criteria, detailed exam pattern, syllabus, marking scheme, and more.
JEE Main will be used for admission to the engineering and architecture programmes at the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other institutions. It will also be used as an eligibility test for JEE Advanced 2025.
