NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has published the city and centre-wise NEET UG results 2024 on the official website, neet.ntaonline.in. In the last NEET UG 2024 SC hearing, the Supreme Court directed the NTA to publish the for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test - undergraduate (NEET UG 2024) results separately on the official website while masking the identity of the students. A bench comprising Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra will continue to hear over 40 petitions on NEET cancellation, re-exam, and against the NTA on July 22. NEET 2024 was conducted on May 5 for over 24 lakh medical aspirants in 4,750 cities. The NTA announced results for NEET UG on June 4, wherein a total of 67 candidates were declared toppers.
Soon after the declaration of results, the NEET 2024 controversy sparked alleging paper leak, unfair distribution of grace marks and irregularities in the exam. Several students held protests demanding re-NEET, scrapping of NTA, and resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

At exam center Mangal Chand Didwaniya Vidya Mandir (RBSE) Sikar, Rajasthan, four students scored over 700 marks, 45 students scored above 650 marks, 92 students exceeded 600 marks, and 200 students scored over 500 marks. A special court in Patna remanded the key accused in the NEET-UG paper leak case to the CBI's custody for 14 days. The accused is alleged to have stolen the exam paper from a trunk of the National Testing Agency (NTA) in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, according to officials.

There are about 23 government medical colleges offering 4,250 MBBS seats and 17 private medical colleges offering 2,900 MBBS seats in Gujarat state through NEET 2024.
As per the data shared by the health ministry, Tamil Nadu has the highest number of 5,275 MBBS seats in government medical colleges, followed by Maharashtra government medical colleges which offer 5,125. According to Union health minister there is an increase of 82% in medical colleges from 387 before 2014 to 706 as of now. Further during the last five years, the number of medical colleges has been increased from 499 in 2018-19 to 648 in 2022-23 along with increase in MBBS seats from 70012 seats in 2018-19 to 96077 seats in 2022-23.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) questioned a first-year MBBS student from the 2023 batch of RIMS in connection with the NEET-UG paper leak case yesterday. It had arrested four AIIMS Patna students. Chandan Singh, Rahul Anant, and Kumar Shanu are third-year students and Karan Jain is a second-year student, AIIMS Patna Director G K Paul told the PTI.
