NEW DELHI: The Odisha State Selection Board has issued a notification for the recruitment of Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs). The registration window for SSB Odisha PGT recruitment 2024 will be active from March 18. Interested and eligible candidates can fill the SSB Odisha PGT recruitment 2024 application form on the official website, ssbodisha.ac.in. The last date to apply for SSB Odisha PGT recruitment 2024 is April 18.

The board intends to recruit a total of 1,061 Post-Graduate Teacher (PGT) positions in Odisha, which are administered by the School and Mass Education Department. The pay scale ranges from Rs 44,900 to 1,42,400.

SSB Odisha PGT Recruitment 2024: Eligibility

Candidates can have a look at the SSB Odisha PGT recruitment 2024 eligibility requirements below

  • Candidates must be between 21 and 38 years old as of January 1, 2024, with a birth date between January 2, 1986 and January 1, 2003.
  • Candidates must hold a master's degree in the subject from a recognised university or complete a six-year post-graduate master's course from an NCERT-recognized Regional College of Education with at least 50% aggregate or equivalent grade.
  • Candidates must hold a BEd or an equivalent degree recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi.
  • PGT positions in Commerce, Education, Geology, Home Science, Logic and Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, IRPM, Telugu, and Urdu do not require a BEd degree.

SSB Odisha PGT Recruitment 2024: Selection process

The selection process includes a written test and a career assessment test. The written marks carries 150 marks and the career assessment test will be of 50 marks. There will be a total of 100 multiple-choice questions. Each question carries a total of 1.5 marks and there 0.5 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

The qualifying marks for the written test are 40% for Unreserved candidates and 30% for candidates belonging to scheduled caste (SC) Scheduled tribe (ST), Person with Disabilities(PwD) categories.
