Symbiosis International University, Macquarie University launch dual degree MBA in banking and finance
The programme is open to individuals holding an undergraduate degree in any discipline, with eligibility criteria based on academic performance and English language proficiency.

NEW DELHI: Symbiosis International University (SIU) and Macquarie University announced a dual degree programme in Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Banking and Finance. As per the institute, the programme aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the dynamic Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector.
According to the official press release, the programme allows students to earn two master's degrees in two years including an MBA with a specialisation in financial services from SIU and a master of banking and finance with a specialisation in financial management from Macquarie University.
The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications. During the first year at SIU, students will focus on building a foundation in management principles, financial analysis, and business ethics. In the second year at Macquarie University, students will specialise in areas like financial modelling, econometrics, and global capital markets.

Foreign degree equivalence |
Candidates with a foreign degree must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) before admission. |
Verification of foreign qualifications |
All foreign degrees/qualifications must be verified by AIU; the Evaluation Division of AIU issues equivalence certificates. |
Dual degree requirement |
For dual degree programmes, students must secure at least a 6.5 GPA in the first semester at the Symbiosis School of Banking and Finance (SSBF). |
For Macquarie University (Additional) |

Completion of SSBF MBA |
Completion of one year (semesters one and two) of the relevant SSBF MBA programme with a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65. |
Undergraduate degree |
Undergraduate degree with a minimum average score of 50% or equivalent; SIU-certified mark sheets for Class 12 and bachelor’s degree must be submitted. |
English language proficiency |
Minimum Academic IELTS score of 6.5 overall with at least 6.0 in each band, or an equivalent qualification. |

Prior work experience is preferred but not mandatory. If applicable, candidates must provide documents supporting their work experience or internship. |
